Not Sure Where To Begin?

The gym can be a confusing place when you first start. It's not unusual to be concerned about learning to fit into the gym environment. How do i share machines with someone? How do i know when it's my turn to use the treadmill? How do i get help if i need it? What do i wear? These are all common questions, so to help alleviate any anxiety, here are some of the answers. Revolution Fitness has a relaxed, friendly environment. If you have any further questions, just ask one of the staff, email or call us. We're always happy to help!

Working in

To use a piece of equipment that is already being used, ask the person if they would mind you "working in" with them. The most common form of "working in" is to alternate sets: they complete one set and while they rest, you complete your set.

If you adjust the weights or equipment it is always polite to return them to the way they were. When you have completed "working in", offer to assist in replacing the weights used.

* Towels must be used on all upholstery for hygiene and upholstery life.
* All weights are to be put away after use. Leaving weights on the floor creates trip hazards. Weights should also be removed from the training bars after use because some people may not be able to move them safely.
* Do not drop weights as this will damage equipment or cause injury.
* Bags are usually not allowed into the weights areas. This is for safety and to prevent clutter. There are lockers in the changerooms.

What should i wear?

We recommend you wear comfortable clothing to the gym. Tracksuit pant, shorts, t-shirt, singlet etc. Sneakers must be worn at all times for hygiene and safety.

Group Fitness?

If you would like to participate in a group fitness class, you need to collect a group fitness class card from reception. The pass must be handed to the instructor at the commencement of the class. This is also a good opportunity to make yourself known to the instructor and advise them that it's your first time. The instructor will ask if you have any illnesses, injuries or pregnancy. They will then go through some techniques for the class. Please arrive 10 min before class commencement to allow time to set up and meet the instructor.

Using the Treadmills

Simply ask a trainer or reception to show you how to start the treadmills. Stand with your feel on the outside rails, press 'start belt' and away you go. Other members are also willing to help you work the machines. Just ask.There are no time limits on the cardio machines. We just ask that you be courteous if someone is waiting.
